• Specializing in play therapy for

    children with big emotions and

supporting the grown-ups who love them

  • Hi, I'm Nicole

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I’m deeply passionate about helping children navigate the ups and downs of growing up. It’s a joy to combine my love for play with my dedication to supporting kids in their emotional and social development.

With over 20 years of experience working with neurodivergent children as a teacher, gifted education consultant, and play therapist, I bring a wealth of knowledge to my practice.

I'm trained in Child-Centered Play Therapy, Introductory Synergetic Play Therapy, and I'm an AutPlay® Certified Provider. Plus, I'm a Raising Kids with Big, Baffling Behaviors Course Facilitator in Training, focusing on helping parents navigate the complexities of raising extraordinary kids who don’t fit typical parenting advice.

My goal is to create a warm and inviting space where your child feels safe to be themselves. I honor and celebrate each child's unique way of experiencing the world.

Whether your child faces big emotions, social challenges, or simply needs a space to explore their feelings, I’m here to support them—and you—every step of the way.

When I’m not working, I love exploring the beautiful desert landscapes of Tucson, spending time with my family, or diving into a good book.

I can't wait to meet you and your child and

    begin this journey together!

    What is play therapy?

In play therapy, children find a safe space to express themselves and tackle challenges, with the therapist supporting their emotional and social growth. The therapist works closely with your child to build emotional awareness, improve problem-solving skills, enhance social interactions,

foster self-acceptance, and promote healing for better emotional regulation.

It's not just play. It's a path to healing and growth.

    Who can benefit?

Navigating big emotions or tough times can be overwhelming for any child. Whether dealing with anxiety, trauma, relationship troubles, or overwhelming emotions, play therapy provides a safe space to process their experiences.

In this nurturing space, children find the freedom to express themselves, learn to manage their feelings, and build stronger, healthier connections.

Through the magic of play, they not only develop emotional resilience

but also feel truly seen and understood.

Play therapy stands out as a highly effective approach for addressing a diverse range of needs in children ages 10 and under.

    Neurodiverse-affirming

Neurodiverse affirming means recognizing the differences in how individuals' brains work and honoring these differences as natural and valuable. This philosophy rejects compliance-based methods and instead leads with curiosity, support, and respect for each child’s needs.

Many challenges faced by neurodivergent children arise not from their neurodivergence itself, but from societal expectations and environments that are not designed to accommodate diverse ways of thinking and feeling.

Neurodiverse affirming therapy helps children thrive by creating an environment where they feel accepted, valued,

    and empowered to be themselves.
